A Standout Season for Arabic Music Drives Anghami’s Strongest Summer in Years
New Anghami platform data highlights the artists, releases and chart momentum shaping Arabic music across generations
Anghami (NASDAQ: ANGH), the leading music and entertainment streaming platform in the Middle East and North Africa, today shared new platform data capturing one of its strongest summers for Arabic music in recent years. Across summer 2026, a standout run of new releases from Amr Diab, Tamer Hosny, Mohamed Hamaki, Tamer Ashour, Cairokee, Angham, Yamane and Tul8te powered one of Anghami’s strongest summers for Arabic music in recent years, with seven artists reaching number one on the platform. Taken together, their performance highlights the breadth of Arabic music resonating with audiences, as established icons and a new generation of artists competed for the top of Anghami’s charts side by side.
The region’s biggest names continue to draw huge audiences. Mohamed Hamaki’s latest album leads the season with 71 million streams, and within days of release it occupied a record breaking 18 of the Top 20 positions on Anghami’s charts, an extraordinary level of chart dominance. Amr Diab’s album follows with 53 million streams, while Tamer Hosny’s album, at 44 million streams, delivered the strongest 48 hour debut of any album on Anghami in 2026, setting the benchmark for opening streaming performance this year. Tamer Ashour’s album added a further 30 million streams.
Alongside the region’s established stars, a new generation of artists is also commanding significant audiences. Tul8te’s recent album and single releases have generated 23 million streams, and his track Garee2a Awy has held the number 1 spot on Anghami for several weeks, an impressive feat given the competition this season. Yamane joined the season with an exclusive single released on the platform. Cairokee’s album, with 28 million streams, added further momentum to the season, reinforcing the breadth of genres and artists performing strongly across the platform.
In fact, nearly every artist in this season’s run reached the very top of the platform. Amr Diab, Tamer Hosny, Mohamed Hamaki, Tamer Ashour, Cairokee, Angham and Tul8te each hit number 1 on Anghami with their most recent release.
The season also marks the launch of Anghami Elite, the platform’s new flagship program celebrating the region’s most influential artists. The program debuted this month with a special edition dedicated to Angham, represented by Believe Artist Services, inviting fans deeper into her world through curated listening experiences, personal stories from across her three decade career and her latest EP, De Rohy.
Salam Kmeid, Head of Music Marketing at Anghami, said: “What stands out this season is not any one release. It is the range. You have artists who shaped Arabic music decades ago charting alongside artists who are just getting started, and listeners are moving through it all. That tells you something real about where the music is going, and we get to watch it happen on Anghami every day.”
Eddy Maroun, Co-founder of Anghami, added: “These results reflect the remarkable momentum of Arabic music and the strength of the partnerships behind it. At Anghami, our work with artists goes far beyond distribution, we collaborate to help amplify their reach, grow their audiences, and unlock new opportunities. Those efforts demonstrate what our ecosystem is capable of. Our role is to keep championing local artists who are shaping the future of Arabic music and culture.”
The findings form part of Anghami’s ongoing work using platform data to chronicle the region’s cultural moments, from the tracks that defined the summer to the artists set to shape autumn playlists. A wider report on Arabic music, covering listening trends and audience behavior across the region, will follow later this year.
