10-Year Moroccan Partnership to Boost Medical Innovation, Higher Education and Scientific Research

The Foundation for Research, Development and Innovation in Science and Engineering FRDISI and Atelier Vita Maroc have signed a 10-year framework partnership agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation in healthcare innovation, scientific research, training and higher education, while providing scientific and institutional support for the Morocco Medical Expo.
The agreement was signed on September 4, 2026, at the FRDISI headquarters in Mohammedia, in the presence of Amine Tahraoui, Minister of Health and Social Protection; Abdellatif Maâzouz, President of the Casablanca-Settat Region; Adil El Maliki, Governor of Mohammedia Prefecture; Hicham Aït Manna, President of Mohammedia Municipality; Hicham El Haid, President of the Moroccan Federation of Plastics; Mohamed El Bouhmadi, former President of the Moroccan Federation of Pharmaceutical and Innovation Industries, along with a number of political and economic figures.
The agreement was signed by André Azoulay, Adviser to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President of FRDISI, and Imad Benjelloun, General Manager of Atelier Vita Maroc.
The partnership represents a new step toward strengthening cooperation between scientific institutions and the private sector, while enhancing the role of medical exhibitions and professional events in supporting research, innovation and knowledge exchange across Morocco and Africa.
Under the agreement, FRDISI will provide scientific and institutional sponsorship for the Morocco Medical Expo and contribute to the development of its scientific content. The foundation will also mobilize its network of experts, researchers and academic stakeholders to enrich the exhibition’s conferences, panels, seminars and workshops.
In return, Atelier Vita Maroc will sponsor ten full scholarships for students of the Blue International University UIB. The scholarships will cover tuition fees, registration and accommodation, supporting students in pursuing their academic and professional careers.
The agreement also provides FRDISI with a 90-square-meter exhibition stand at every annual edition of the Morocco Medical Expo, strengthening the foundation’s presence within one of Morocco’s major specialized medical events.
Beyond the Morocco Medical Expo, the partnership provides for joint initiatives in scientific events, institutional communication, applied research, technological innovation and entrepreneurship.
The two parties may also cooperate in organizing scientific conferences, seminars, professional forums, B2B meetings and initiatives dedicated to promoting higher education, scientific research and entrepreneurship.
The 10-year agreement reflects the shared commitment of both parties to making healthcare innovation a driver of development, strengthening Morocco’s position as a regional hub for knowledge, scientific research and medical events, while expanding cooperation with scientific and professional communities across Africa.
FRDISI is a public-interest foundation chaired by André Azoulay, Adviser to His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The foundation works in scientific research, development, innovation, training and support for young people and students through the Blue International University and various scientific and entrepreneurial initiatives.
